Description

The central idea in the photography of Vicenza artist Leonardo Onetti Muda is to discover and present images of life regenerating, of the cycle of existence.

He has realised a sequence of black and white shots, taken while walking down trails in the woods, domestic but not always accessible. The photographer is always looking for peculiar shapes, old stumps and roots transforming into something else, something indefinite but full of life, something that is disclosing its destiny and its shape to his attentive eye.

The “Faunus” project, exhibited successfully in 2019 in Venezia at Palazzo Polignac and selected as one of the cultural events in Schio in 2020, showcases 40 photographs by Onetti Muda that highlight nature’s skill at transforming and changing its appearance, modifying the idea of its existential function.

Connecting with the woods, “the artist’s sight falls on what is unusual, on mysterious shapes that hide something in their folds, nooks and crannies, that change with time and with the weather, that host tiny forms of life which suggest aliveness and magic.” (Giovanna Grossato, Schio. Nel bosco trasfigurato da Onetti Muda, in “Il Giornale di Vicenza’’, 2020)
